Product Description

Dulux Professional Weathershield PU Flexx is a high-performance ultra-premium exterior
emulsion paint powered by PU-MA (Polyurethane Modified Acrylic);& Silicon Technology,
that provides excellent protection against weather attacks especially rains and UV.The Core
& Shell binder system provides the Surface of the walls with their long-lasting durability.
Powered by its revolutionary Triple Defense technology (Superior crack proof, Superior
weather resistant & superior water resistant), it gives your home ultimate protection from
extreme rainfall, hairline cracks, extreme heat, UV rays, dirt,dust, and Water resistance.
Advanced Bio pack system ensures that the surfaces remain free of Algal & Fungal growth
for long periods of time.

Application Description

Surface Preparation

Ensure surface is thoroughly clean, dry and free from all loose dirt, chalk, grease, fungi, algae and flaking paint. This can be achieved by brushing with a wire/stiff coir brush, followed by water jetting if required.
Avoid inhalation of dust during cleaning of the surface. For areas severely affected by algae or fungus, application of Pre-Treatment Coat is recommended.
Fill up all minor cracks and defects with cement and sand mixture in the ratio 1:3. Avoid application of putty or filling compounds.
Freshly plastered surfaces must be allowed to cure completely. For best adhesion performance, the moisture content in the wall should not exceed 10%.   
Application Tools

By roller, brush or conventional /airless spray (nozzle size 0.5mm to 0.7mm).

Dilution
Ready to use. Dilute 1L of paint with 300-400 ml of water. In case of dark colors, dilute 1L of paint with a maximum of 250 ml of water. Recommended dilution for roller is 20-30%.

Note: Excessive dilution from that recommended will result in low coverage and may impact application properties and colour.

Technical & Safety Documentation

Treatments such as sanding, burning off etc of paint fims may generate hazardous dust and other fumes. Wet sanding/flaming should bo used wherever possible. Work in well ventiated areas. Tips & Advice

  • 1. Preparing the Surfaces
    Freshly Plastered surfaces must be allowed to cure completely. It is recommended to allow at
    least 28 days as the curing time for new masonry surfaces. Ensure surface is thoroughly
    clean, dry and free from all loose dirt, chalk, grease, fungi, algae and flaking paint. This can be
    achieved by brushing with a wire/stiff coir brush, followed by water jetting if required. Dry
    sanding, flame cutting and/or welding of the dry paint film may give rise to dust and/or
    hazardous fumes. Wet sanding should be used wherever possible. If exposure cannot be
    avoided by the provision of local exhaust ventilation, suitable respiratory protective equipment
    should be used. If after thoroughly cleaning the surface, the surface still exhibits chalkiness,
    the surface should be coated with Dulux Professional Weathershield Sealer E1000. For areas
    severely affected by algae or fungus application of Dulux Aquatech Pre-Treatment coat is
    recommended. Fill up all minor cracks and defects with Dulux Aquatech Range of crack fillers
    as per requirement. Alternatively use mortar modified with Aquatech Waterproof repair
    polymer. Dulux Professional Weathershield PU Flexx should not be applied to the surfaces or
    substrates which are exposed to continuous seepage or dampness. For best adhesion
    performance, the moisture content in the wall should not exceed 10%.
  • 2. Cleaning
    Clean all equipment with clean water immediately after use
  • 3. Storing
    Observe label precautions. Store in a dry, cool and well-ventilated area. Keep away from heat and direct sunlight.Keep away from sources of ignition. No smoking. Prevent unauthorised access. Containers that have been opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage.
